I am writing a letter of recommendation for XYZ,for a Master /Ph.D. scholarship. I know him for more than five years since his admission here at the [University name].His academic record has been excellent. I have been extremely impressed with his ability to learn new techniques under field and laboratory conditions. He has very good record in creative research. Most important to me is that he has a consistent record of being creative at a cut above his peers. He has also been extremely productive in obtaining new skills and knowledge in the laboratory and fieldwork.
In ranking his abilities for critical thought and analysis, application of skills, knowledge, judgment, originality, enthusiasm and determination, I would rank him in the upper 10% of all graduate students. He has the potential of being a good scientist that will produce high quality research in the years to come. Therefore, I highly recommend Mr. XYZ for this Master/Ph.D. fellowship. Mostly people are confused what kind of format of letter should be ? Here is the answer of all their question.
1.Stamp or Signature is necessary or Both are mandatory?
Answer: It depends, Mostly professor information with its signature is enough , some time universities or countries ask seal stamp on recommendation letter,concluding that with signature is acceptable
2. Recommendation letter only can be signed by associate or professor? ( as in scs scholarship description mentioned )
Answer: First try to ask Associate or Professor but if they are not available you can ask assistant professor ,even it have been observed sometime Lecturer recommendation letter is being accepted ?
3. How many Recommendation letter is necessary for Scholarship ?
Answer:It depends, Generally Universities ask two recommendation letter from your instructor with your previous university background
